Dr. Catherine A. Marcum

Catherine Marcum is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner and Lifestyle practitioner with 30 years experience in the field of critical care nursing. She is a 2014 graduate with two doctoral degrees; Adult Gerontology Acute Care and Lifestyle Therapeutics, from Southern Adventist University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing and a recipient of the Dean’s Leadership Award for excellence in doctoral study. She is past President of the Nurse Portfolio Credentialing Commission and was appointed to that position by the board of the International Society of Nurses in Genetics.

Catherine and her team deliver expert care in cancer genetics and she provides oversight of all facets of research as it pertains to genetics in this population.

Catherine is credentialed as an advanced practice nurse in Adult Gerontology Acute Care Through the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC). In addition, she is board certified in genetics and one of less than 100 advanced practice nurses with this credential in the United States. She completed the City of Hope intensive program in cancer genetics in spring 2016 and remains active in their Clinical Cancer Genetics working group and research arm. She resides in Cleveland Tennessee and is married to Dr. Robert F. Marcum.
